Junior Customer Service Representative (32–40 hours)
What will you do?
In this fun and challenging entry-level position, you’ll work alongside an enthusiastic team and interact daily with clients, our transport planning department, offices, and agents.
You’ll be responsible for receiving, recording, processing, and administratively finalizing transport orders. You’ll learn how to ensure that the client’s product gets from point A to point B as efficiently as possible.
Throughout the entire process, you will closely monitor shipments and make adjustments as needed. You will maintain close contact with customers, actively contribute ideas for solutions, and proactively keep customers informed. Customer focus and precision are central to this role.
You will report to the Senior Customer Service Representative, who will guide and support you in your professional development. This gives you ample opportunity to advance within our organization, for example, toward a role as a Customer Service Representative or a sales position.
Job requirements
- Completed education at MBO level, preferably in transportation and/or logistics;
- At least some internship experience in the industry;
- Knowledge regarding transportation of hazardous materials is a plus;
- Excellent communication skills;
- You are a team player and have a flexible attitude;
- You are Proactive and Accurate;
- Thorough knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Excellent oral and written fluency in Dutch and English, proficiency in German is a plus.
- You are available for at least 32 hours (4 days of 8 hours each).

Who are we?
RMI specializes in transporting liquid chemicals, food, and feed by tank container throughout Europe. We combine years of experience with a hands-on mentality. From our office in Rotterdam's Botlek district, our dedicated team and modern fleet of 1,500 tank containers provide safe, efficient, and flexible logistics solutions. Since our foundation in 1997, we have grown into a strong player in the logistics sector.
At the same location, we work together with three companies, each of which handles a different aspect of the logistics chain. RBC is a modern terminal for the storage and handling of loaded (tank) containers, including facilities for heating and customs inspections. RCC focuses on the sale, rental, and modification of containers. CETEM is an expert in the storage and inspection of empty containers and reefers, and also provides maintenance and repair services. By joining forces, we can offer customers a complete and efficient range of services, all at a single location.
