Technical Assistant

What will you do?

In this challenging and varied role, you’ll ensure that our tank containers and trailers are in top condition. No two days are the same: one day you’ll assist drivers with issues involving the tank or chassis, and the next you’ll perform all kinds of tasks at our terminal. You’re not satisfied until a problem has been resolved to everyone’s satisfaction—you place a high priority on service. Are you a true team player, and do tank containers hold no secrets for you? Duties:

• Providing technical support (mostly on location) to drivers with issues relating to tank containers and chassis;
• Performing maintenance work on tank containers and container trailers correctly and safely;
• Proactively performing inspections and checks on tank containers and container trailers, including recording and reporting findings;
• Checking and assessing repairs and maintenance work carried out;
• Ensuring the correct, complete, and timely administrative processing of maintenance, repairs, and inspections;
• Performing transfer operations on tank containers;
• Performing logistical tasks, such as moving tank containers with the terminal tractor;
• Monitoring and executing the heating process of tank containers;
• Providing technical support throughout the terminal.

Job requirements

• Vocational education (MBO) level of working and thinking, preferably with technical training or demonstrable technical work experience.
• You have a good command of the Dutch language and English language.
• You have a Class B driver's license.
• You can work both independently and as part of a team.
• You have no objection to working shifts (morning and evening shifts) and overtime (for which you will be compensated).
• You are a problem solver; you know how to solve problems creatively within the given parameters.
• You are available for a minimum of 32 hours (4 days) per week.

RMI specializes in transporting liquid chemicals, food, and feed by tank container throughout Europe. We combine years of experience with a hands-on mentality. From our office in Rotterdam's Botlek district, our dedicated team and modern fleet of 1,500 tank containers provide safe, efficient, and flexible logistics solutions. Since our foundation in 1997, we have grown into a strong player in the logistics sector.

At the same location, we work together with three companies, each of which handles a different aspect of the logistics chain. RBC is a modern terminal for the storage and handling of loaded (tank) containers, including facilities for heating and customs inspections. RCC focuses on the sale, rental, and modification of containers. CETEM is an expert in the storage and inspection of empty containers and reefers, and also provides maintenance and repair services. By joining forces, we can offer customers a complete and efficient range of services, all in one location.
